So how did Grassroots k9 come to Maryland?

 

Trainer, Kelsey Como grew up on the Eastern Shore around working dogs but at the time her career was in the legal field. Then Kelsey met her chocolate lab, Charlie. Kelsey wanted to tap into Charlie's full potential and to expand her dog training knowledge - so she headed up north to apprentice under Head Trainer, Michael. Since then Kelsey has helped numerous clients exceed in training their dog as well as assisting in the training and handling of police k'9s. The training that Grassroots k9 offers is something we believe everyone should have access to so as Kelsey returns home to Maryland she brings with her newest methodologies and tools to help understand a dogs behavior, as well as the most effective way to meet our clients goals.

Grassroots K9 is established to meet the increasing demand for expert training for dogs in all disciplines. The in depth knowledge of animal behavior allows us to develop a training program custom fit to each client and dog.

 

Diversity is essential. By diversifying the learning environments it reinforces the outcome of the desired behavior. Therefore, our training programs our offered in various forms:

 

• Private train sessions;

• board n train; and

• group classes.

 

Setting your dog up for success is a number one priority. We will guide you every step of the way. Private train sessions are designed to train in the environment that your dog is majority in or having issues. Board n train offers a more structure environment to help achieve desired results. Grassroots k9 offers pick up and drop off services to accommodate clients busy schedule. We understand that training can be very overwhelming for the everyday pet owner. We WANT to make this easier. Group classes are encouraged for clients to train overall obedience and engagement even in high distracted areas.
