Mastering the Basics of Detection: 4-Week Interactive Online Course is designed for dog handlers and enthusiasts who want to build a strong foundation in detection work. This comprehensive program covers essential topics such as marker systems, imprinting, and understanding and having intention behind environmental hides to help with independent search patterns. Each week, participants will engage in two live online sessions (Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 PM), where they will receive expert instruction, participate in interactive discussions, and review homework assignments. All sessions are recorded and can be reviewed at a later date for added flexibility. The course emphasizes practical skills, including the use of tools to maintain focus, strategies to guide dogs back into task, and the dos and don’ts of detection work. Monday sessions will introduce new concepts and techniques, while Wednesday sessions will focus on troubleshooting, reviewing homework, and addressing individual challenges.
