K9’s United Seminar

On October 26th-28th I had the pleasure of working alongside some of the dog training industries' heavy hitters at a workshop put on by K9’s United. This seminar was totally free of cost to police canine handlers.

This amazing organization sponsored over 100 law enforcement dog teams who’s agencies were suffering from budgetary constraints. The workshop covered everything from obedience, detection, tracking, to apprehension work and was designed to help enhance officer safety and effectiveness.

One of the things that stood out to me the most was the overall eagerness to learn. Everyone (including the instructors) were there to become better at what they do.

We were all stationed at Camp Blanding, and after 10 plus hours of daily training, we would gather talk dogs all night. I encourage everyone that can to visit the K9s United webpage and support this amazing non-profit organization.
